Dear Mrs. Valentine, Dan and Margaret, Scott, Dave, and Mark and all your families: I was saddened to see the obituary notice for Don today. Dad and Mom, Tom, and I wish to extend our sincere condolences. I immediately think back all these many years to all the trips I made down Grape...either walking, running or on bike, turning into the Valentines driveway, past the Corvair (...was there one or two???), and to the front door... I don't ever remember a time when I wasn't greeted by that unmistakably and genuinely enthusiastic "Valentine Smile"...regardless of who answered the door. You were/are wonderful friends and incredible people, and you don't have to look much further than your folks to understand why!! Sending you love and a hug. Your friends, the Rays. I am sorry to hear of Don's passing, but rejoice because we all know he is with the Lord. I have always looked up to Don as one of the faithful few. He was a great example of the believer, self sacrificing and Kingdom-focused. May you take comfort in the fact that he is where he is supposed to be, and we are only temporarily separated from him.
